Half-Moon Bakery and Bistro in Jamesville first caught my attention on Instagram with their beautiful photos. Their colorful cakes are available in several sizes and vegan or not (some in the case each week, but most are special orders). They are decorated with macarons and flowers that offer a very high-end, unique design – and they are also delicious!

I took a ride up to check them out, and I wasn’t disappointed! After ordering various macarons and cupcakes (they have an amazing array of decorated mini-cupcakes), I also ordered two of their Vegan Half-Moon Cookies (to CNYer’s, also “Half-n-Half” cookies), and they were addictively good. I’ve been back twice. I also asked if any of their vegan treats include palm oil, and I was very happy that they do not!

Any of the baked goods at Half-Moon can be made vegan for a small extra cost. In my opinion, they are well worth it for any special occasion, or just when it’s Monday. I know I’ll be a regular, and I plan to check out their daily lunch specials this week.

The atmosphere is bright and friendly, with several small tables to sit at while enjoying your lunch and/or treats. You can park out front, though there is also parking out back of the building. If you are going there via Jamesville Road, take a right at the end on Rt. 173 and they are on the left.  Enjoy, and get your Easter orders in now!
